Ruth Wilma Lange, 79, 617 Pawn, Quincy, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at 12:49 pm at the Blessing Hospital.
She was born January 2, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer Bruenger and Clara Miller Bruenger. On Nov. 24, 1951, she married Marvin Lange in Quincy. He survives.
She had worked for the former W. T. Grant Department Store in Quincy. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, was a former Republican Precinct Election Judge, and had been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Quincy.
Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Susan Knuf and her husband Kurt, Quincy; a son, Mark Lange and his wife Rendy, Lewistown, IL; 4 grandchildren, Jason Knuf, Quincy; Ashley, Taylor and Luke Lange, Lewistown, IL; 2 brothers, Russell Bruenger, Florissant, MO; Richard Bruenger, Quincy; and 2 sisters, Norma Jean Butcher, Springfield, IL; and Delores Bruenger, Quincy. She was preceded in death by a sister, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Monday, December 2, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Marlin R. Rempfer officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am Monday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast or a Charity of the donor's choice.
