Lucille Lambert, 71, of 1707 North 12th, Quincy, died Friday, May 17, 2002 at 10:40 pm in Blessing Hospital.
She was born February 27, 1931 in Shelbyville, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred Lee and Maurine Simpson Carper. On August 18, 1975, she married Everett Casey Lambert in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1991.
She was employed as a waitress at Marge's Grill for ten years and the at Terwelps for 5 years until her marriage. She was a member of the Church of Christ where she worked in the nursery. Lucille loved to work with children, enjoyed bingo, embroidery and crochet as well as taking care of her family.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Lee Durk and his wife Ruth, Arizona; a daughter, Katt Bowers and her husband Stephen, Quincy; 3 grandchildren, Timothy Keizer, Summerville, SC; Gary Ballinger, Quincy; Travis Ballinger, Denver, CO; a brother, Lindell R. Carper and his wife Carolyn, Quincy. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Lee Carper in infancy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening, May 21, 2002 at 6:30 pm in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Mr. James Riley officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4:00 - 6:30 pm at Hansen-Spear. Private inurnment will be held in Sunset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
