Gary G. Campbell, 50, of 5023 W. Paradise Lane, Quincy, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at 9:45 pm in Blessing Hospital.
He was born September 27, 1951 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Herschel E. and Lola B. House Campbell. On July 22, 1972, he married Barbara Fuller in Quincy, Illinois. She survives.
He was employed for 30 years at Celotex as a boiler room operator. He was recently recognized for 10 years of service as a Foster Parent at Chaddock School. Gary was treasurer of the Harrison Hills Committee for 2 years, president of the R/C Air Command in Taylor, MO, and recently took part in the regional air show in Jefferson City, MO, and was a member of the Academy of Model Aerotronics.
Survivors in addition to his wife are his father, Herschel and his wife Dorothy, Quincy; 2 sons, Daniel James Campbell and his wife Rebecca, Ursa, IL; Kevin Lee Campbell, Quincy; 1 grandson, Tyler Campbell, Ursa, IL; 2 brothers, Edward Lee Campbell and his wife Mary, Quincy; Roger Ray Campbell and his wife Debbie, Quincy; 1 sister, Barbara Ann Walker and her husband Robert, Quincy; one niece, 6 nephews and 1 great niece. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 29, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Rice officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kevin Campbell's Educational Fund.
