Charles E. Heinze, 71, 3211 Golf Drive, Quincy, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at 11:27 pm at Blessing Hospital.
He was born January 5, 1930, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Frank and Clara Flaiz Heinze. On December 30, 1950, he married Norma Jean Olps in St. Mary Catholic Church. She survives.
Mr. Heinze was a 1948 graduateĀ of Notre Dame High School. He retired after 40 years as a union carpenter, having worked for Bauhaus-Zwick, Orville Waterkotte, Jude Holthaus & later Quincy University. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Carpenters & Joiners Union # 189 & Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed horseshoes, cards and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, 6 children, Debbie Kado & her husband Don, Aurora, Co; Pam Hueseman & her husband Al, Aurora, CO; Geri Armitage & her husband Jim, Naperville, IL; Brad Heinze & his wife Debbie, Creve Coeur, MO; Karen Williams & her husband Steve, Quincy; Brian Heinze & his wife Beth, Quincy; grandchildren, Jordan & Alexandra Hueseman, Aurora, CO; Allison & Aaron Armitage, Naperville, IL; Blake & Brooke Williams, Quincy; Ian & Skylar Heinze, Quincy; sisters, Margie Waters, Peoria, IL; Dolly Ball, Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Eugene 'Scotty' Heinze & a sister Carlene Campbell.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 19, at 9:30am at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and at 10:00am at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rev. Roy Bauer and Rev. Chuck Edwards officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. A Wake Service will be held Friday at 6:30pm and the Knights of Columbus Service will be held at Memorials may be given to the St. Peter's Junior High Building Fund or the
Knights of Columbus Mass for Shut-ins.
