Debra L. "Debbie" Shinn , age 59, of 4200 Catamaran, Quincy, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at 12:45 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Debbie was born February 8, 1954 in Quincy, the daughter of Richard and Norma Priepot Harvey. She married Michael L. Shinn June 5, 1976 in Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy. He survives.
Debbie was a 1972 graduate of Quincy High School. She had worked at the jewelry counter at State Street Store, Bergner's, and at Emerald City Jewelers. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she worked in the AWANA J.V. program, was a member of the choir, and the Praise Team. She was a supporter of Blue Devil Basketball and Quincy University men's and women's basketball teams.
She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, and loved wearing her jewelry and collecting Barbies.
In addition to her husband Michael, survivors include her parents of Quincy, two sons, Ryan Michael (fiancé', Rebecca Stump) Shinn and Rick Lawrence Shinn, all of Quincy, 2 brothers, Rich K. (Louise) Harvey, Newark, OH and Bruce A. (Mardell) Harvey, Quincy, brother-in-law Kent (Cindy) Shinn, Quincy,
and six nieces and nephews, Justin and Jessica Harvey, Katie Hollensteiner, Karli Harvey, Melissa Bernier and Tyler Shinn.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Velma and Lawrence Shinn.
Services: Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. L.D. Grant officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery
Visitation: Tuesday July 30, 2013 from 4 until 7 pm at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
Memorials: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Blessing Cancer Center
