"Dear Surface family, Bob,Jenn,Stephanie,Tracey, I am very sorry to hear of Pats passing. A year after the fact... I have many a fond memory of you guys on Vermont St. and being a friend of Rob's. He was a great friend to me. His tragic death at 15 will always haunt me.Even in high school we still spoke to one another and traded music. I will never forget him and the days we spent together playing. The little black dog..."Kissey"? she was always around I remember. : ) Pat was always kind to me and let us "boys" be boys! It was a wonderful childhood and I have her and Rob to thank for that!! Again I am sorry for your loss. James Farthing"

"I cannot believe it has been one year! We are missing you so very much! Many things have changed since you've been gone. It has been quite challenging mentally, however, In the same spirit that you had, we are working on moving on the best we possibly can. Thank you for teaching us about all that is good and right. It helps me on a daily basis. I have to admit! Mom always does know best! The grandkids are pining for you. They also miss your arm tickles and back rubs. I think about our good memories everyday. I try to watch Dancing With The Stars anytime I can! WE ALL LOVE YOU! Jennifer"

"My magnanimous mom died holding my hand, such a blessing! She brought me into this world and was there for me every second and she left with me right by her side. She suffered from COPD and her life had become a living hell. I felt relief for HER only, as I will never be the same. However, we will carry on somehow, even though we each have a hole in us, where she is missing, Our family looks forward to seeing her friends, fellow artists, her teachers and classmates and Quincyans, at her service, Saturday, January 7, 2012."
