Florence M. Dix

Mrs. Florence M. Dix, age 93, 1515 So. 28th St., Quincy, died Sunday, January 23, 2000 at the Blessing Hospital.

She was born January 20, 1907 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of John Henry Fleer and Clara Amanda Beckman Fleer.

On October 1, 1925, she married William Clyde McAdams in Belleville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1946. She married Ralph H. Dix, February 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death January 12, 1983.

Mrs. Dix had been employed by Cheerful Home in Quincy and worked in a Nursery in Chicago for 2 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. Mrs. Patricia 'Pat' Yohn who made her home with her Mother. 3 granddaughters, Kathryn Kelley and her husband Greg, Fort Myers, FL.

Kristine Fuhr and her husband Kenneth, Macungie, Pa.;Julie McCarney and her husband Norman, DeKalb, IL, 5 great grandchildren, Collin Kelley, Fort Myers, FL..,Matthew, Timothy & Erica Fuhr, Macungie, Pa. and Kyle Joseph Rogowski, DeKalb.

She also was preceded in death by by her parents, 2 husbands, a brother Clarence and a sister Alvina.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11AM in St. James Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marlin R. Rempfer officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois.Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10AM until time of services. Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church. Hansen-Spear Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
