Emmet A. Willis, 92, 2301 W. Monroe, Springfield, formerly of 1224 South 17th died Wednesday, January 26, 2000 at the Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 12, 1907 in Fall Creek Twp, Illinois, the son of Charles and Sadie Reich Willis.

On November 28,1934, he married Nellie Hannah Seiz in Quincy. She preceded him in death on April 3, 1983.

He farmed all his life in the Payson area. He was custodian at Salem Church from 1971-1990 until his retirement. He was a graduate of Payson High School. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, and he was a member of the Farm Bureau for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Eunice Ann Sampson and her husband Kenneth, Springfield; 2 sons, Carl E. Willis and his wife Jeri, Colorado Springs, CO; William C. Willis and his wife Linda, San Antonio, TX; 3 grandchildren, Terisa Gawlik and her husband Larry, Colorado Springs, CO; Carin Barnett and her husband Alex, Colorado Springs, CO; Kevin Willis and his wife Amanda, San Antonia, TX; 3 great grandchildren, Larisa and William Gawlik, Colorado Springs, CO; Gavin Willis, San Antonio, TX He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Frank of Chicago in 1961.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 29, 2000 at 2pm in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Barry N. Clair officiating. Burial in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Ilinois .

The family will receive friends from noon until 2pm Saturday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
