Charlene Reeder Johnston, 71 yrs , 2325 Spruce, Quincy, died , Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at 8:55pm in her home.

She was born March 15, 1928 in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Adlia Reeder and Ruth Lappin Reeder.

On November 27, 1946, she married Carl M. Johnston in Hannibal, Mo.. He survives at the home.

Mrs. Johnston was an assembly line worker for Motorola Co. for over 20 years and retired when the company closed the Quincy operation. She then was the assistant manager for Hickory Farms for over 10 years. For 3 years she was employed by Niemann Foods in the demonstration department. Mrs. Johnston was a 1946 graduate of Hannibal High School. Mrs. Johnston was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Moose. For the past 10 years, the Johnstons spent winter months in San Benito, Tx. at the Fun-N-Sun Trailer Park.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a Daughter, Carla J. Gosney, Quincy; 2 Sons, Craig J. Johnston and his wife Kimberly, Hannibal, Mo. and Clinton D. Johnston and his wife Beth, Hannibal, Mo. 7 Grandchildren, Christopher T. Gosney, Quincy, Nicholas D. Gosney, Quincy, Jacob C. Johnston, Hannibal, Zachary R. Johnston, Hannibal, Caleb S. Johnston, Hannibal, Jennifer L. Johnston, Hannibal, Jessica A. Johnston, Hannibal, 1 sister , Genevieve Fry, Memphis Tn. and formerly of Palmyra, Mo. .

She was preceded in death by parents, a brother Thurman Reeder and 2 sisters Esther Stephenson and Marjorie in infancy.

Funeral Services will Saturday, January 29, 2000 at 9:30 A.M. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and at 10 A.M. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church., Father Austin Albers, O. F.M. officiating. Burial in Grand View Burial Park, Hannibal, Missouri. A wake service will be held at 6PM Friday at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8P.M. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
