Darren W. Francis age 39, Lewistown, MO died April 16, 2011, at 11:56 PM in Blessing Hospital ER.

Darren was born March 22, 1972 in, Quincy, IL, the son of Dave and Judy A. Thompson Francis. He was a 1990 graduate of Quincy High School and was a Spoon River College graduate. He was a diesel mechanic at Robert's Garage in Ewing, MO and previously worked at Hadler International and at Ryder's Rental in Quincy. He was a member of Dover Baptist Church, and had been a Boy Scout and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was an expert marksman and hunter, and placed third at the Bikathalon in Barry when he was 16. Darren also loved to fish.

Survivors include his parents, a brother, Donnell B. (Angie) Francis of Quincy, IL; a daughter, Samantha Adele Francis of Ewing, MO; a step-daughter, Heather Benner of Maywood, MO, 2 nephews, Sebastian and Cameron Francis of Fowler, IL; maternal grandmother, Margaret Thompson; aunts and uncles, David and Vicky Thompson, Ann and Glen Gibleon, Randy Thompson, Linda and David Smith, George and Penny Thompson, and Janice French.

Darren was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George William Thompson and paternal grandparents, William and Velma Francis.

Services: 1:00 pm, Thursday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Jeremy Latzke officiating

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Wednesday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
