Darlene A. Parkhurst, 60, of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Fleur Heights Care Center. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Giovannetti Shelter, 9000 Douglas Ave, in Urbandale, IA. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Darlene was born in Altoona, Iowa on October 20, 1958 to Donald and Thelma (Fritz) Floden. She attended Southeast Polk High School and graduated with the class of 1976. Darlene was a very simple lady that loved her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed hosting family events, holiday parties, having a house full of family and friends, cooking, traveling, fishing, and music.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children Lauren Snow of West Des Moines, IA and Dominic Parkhurst of Urbandale, IA; and grandchildren Dominic and Darla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward.
