"Heaven has gained another angel. I fondly remember Ruth from the school cafeteria and from St. Patrick's Church. My deepest sympathy to her family at this difficult time. "
Ruth L. Inskeep, 97, completed her earthly life's journey on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Farmington Country Manor.
A lifelong Elmwood area resident, she was born to Frank and Edith (Seltzer) Graham on July 20, 1921. Her marriage to G. James Inskeep began on August 17, 1940, at St. Joseph's in Brimfield. Her husband, parents, and an infant sister, Margaret, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, David (Carroll) Inskeep of Elmwood, Gary (Janet) Inskeep of Yates City, Rosemary (Jim) Philbee of Green Valley, AZ, Leroy (Judy) Inskeep of Green Valley, AZ, Mary (Giffin) Scarlett of West Layfette, IN, twelve grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
After her children were out on their own, she worked for ten years at the Elmwood High School cafeteria. This employment was perfect as she loved to cook and bake. The family has fond memories of the dozens and varieties of cookies that were made by her and her husband at Christmas to share with family and friends. Ruth was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Elmwood and its Altar and Rosary Society where she served as President.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elmwood, with a visitation an hour preceding the mass. Burial of ashes will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church or B.Y.E. Ambulance service.
