"I first met Steve at my Mom's place when I visited from Michigan. I was initially a little worried when he told me he'd been looking for a rich old lady to marry for a long time. I soon learned that Steve was a world-class smart-ass with a heart of gold who would never do a thing to take advantage of my mother. Quite the opposite: always there to help. I appreciated Steve's devil-may-care attitude to the world, and will always remember his installation of my Mom's ceiling fan/light without switching the fuse off or even the wall switch. You done well, Steve, and I look forward to cracking open a few beers with you on that old back porch in the sky! Dave Lindberg"

"My mother, Laverne Lindberg, was Steve's neighbor in Geneva, IL for many years. She considered Steve a good friend. They played cribbage almost every night. Steve was a big help especially as she got weaker. He always came over when we were in town from St Paul,MN. We miss him and are saddened to hear of his passing. Andy and Linda Lindberg"

"Memory....there are way too many to think about listing it here . Godfather to our Kim, "uncle" to them all....Duanes buddy and partner in crime for many years. Your stories will go on and on without you. Say hi to your dad, Goose, Armin & Eilleen and anyone else we lost. You are truly a legend, and i can see you cock your head and grin.....and say "not me...you must be talking about someone else!"...No Steve, it IS you! God speed & when Duane gets there someday, you can say: " hold my beer and watch this!" "
