Nancy Van Blaricum
February 14, 1948 - September 8, 2016

Nancy Van Blaricum, 68, died Thursday evening, September 8, 2016 of natural causes at her home in Cedar Rapids.



A memorial service will be led by the Reverend Tom Miller at the St. Gabriel and All Angels Church in Fairfield Friday September 23rd at 1:30. A memorial ballroom dance will be held in the evening from 8 to 10 at Morning Star Studio on the Fairfield Square. There will also be a lesson in the Fox Trot and Rumba starting at 7:30. The family would appreciate donations for funeral expenses in lieu of flowers. Ms. Van Blaricum was born February 14, 1948 . She became a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Technique in Mallorca, Spain in 1972 and taught over 2000 practitioners. She moved to Fairfield with her daughter in 1993 and married her husband, Paul Saipher in 1999. She and her husband moved to Cedar Rapids December 15, 2015.



Nancys passion in later years was making purses mostly from recycled fabric samples and selling them at farmers markets and craft shows.



Survivors include: her husband Paul Saipher; her daughter Brynn Van Blaricum of North Liberty, Iowa; and her sister Debbie Koines of Marthas Vineyard, Massachusetts.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Norma and Curtis Jones of Marthas Vineyard.
