Sharon Kay Sapper
February 11, 1939 - May 5, 2016

Sharon Kay Sapper, 77, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines surrounded by her loving family. No services are planned at this time and a private family burial will be held at a later date.



Sharon was born on February 11, 1939 in Ames, Iowa to Donald and Virginia (Ball) Lawrence. Following high school she married Stephen Sapper on December 31, 1955. The couple raised three children while having the entrepreneurial spirit. They ran multiple businesses together over the years including a car lot in Story City for 12 years. She was a member of the Indianola Freedom Fellowship Church, the Republican Party, the YMCA, and the National Rifle Association. Sharon had a great love for her family and cherished every moment with them, most especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed volunteering at Red Rock every year, thrift shopping, going to Wal-Mart, and running the businesses they had created.



Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Charles (Jodee) Sapper, Lorraine (Jim Black) Williams, and Valerie (Jeff) Freel; grandchildren Lee Drinkall, Vickie Drinkall, Cassie Drinkall, Kellie Fliss, Brooke Bush, Jessica McKuiston, Tyler McKuiston, Skye Sapper, and Stevie Eaton; great-grandchildren Gabe Graham, Emberliegh Drinkall, Kinlee McCord, Scarlett Drinkall, Camren Fliss, Grady Fliss, Chloe Eaton, Vincent Eaton, and Natalie McKuiston.



Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Jan, and brother Joe.
