Donald 'Don' R. Peterson II, 63 of Altoona passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Graveside memorial services will be on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Don was born on September 10, 1951 in Des Moines to Donald and Evelyn (Battles) Peterson. He attended school in Des Moines and graduated from East High in 1970. Following school he joined the Army and served as a radio operator during the Vietnam Conflict. After the war Don worked at various management jobs within the food services industry. Don enjoyed life and love to hunt, fish, and cooking.
He is survived by his daughters Andrea Gerarden, and Alicia Lloyd; sisters Jeannine Wallace, Elizabeth Countryman, Myla Peterson, and Jenell Peterson; grandchildren Jazzaleigh,Jayden,ivy,Seth,Sage, and Zane; and great-grandchild Iris.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Joline.
