October 27, 1968 - December 2, 2014

Heidi Shirley, 46 of Des Moines passed away at Iowa Lutheran Hospital on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Memorial service will be on Saturday, December 13 2014, 10:30 am at Park Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines.



Heidi Marie Shirley was born on October 27, 1968 to Vernon and Ingrid (Minor) Sheets in Hannibal, Missouri. She was raised in Hannibal, worked as a life guard at the YMCA, and graduated from Hannibal High School. Following school she joined the Air Force and attended the University of Colorado where she earned her BSN. On July 3, 2010 Heidi married Andrew Shirley and the two resided in Des Moines. Heidi was a member at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Hannibal, Missouri and Park Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines. She was a very active and had a great love for her family and her Golden Retrievers, the outdoors, swimming, fishing, bicycling, scuba diving, spending time at her Aunt and Uncles lake house, the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Chicago Bears.



Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Andy Shirley; children Ryan and Kristina Shirley; parents Vernon and Ingrid; brother Kenny (Mary Kay) Sheets; sister Gabrielle (Chris) Rice; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
