Margaret Emma Huisman, 92, of Elmwood, peacefully passed into eternal life at 9:22 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at her daughter's home.
Margaret was born on September 17, 1925, in Storm Lake, Iowa, a daughter to Conrad and Judith Lundquist Swanson. She married Anthony Joseph Ulrich in Chicago, on December 1, 1942. He passed into eternal life on December 15, 1968. Margaret then married Cornelius Huisman in Bridgeview, on February 21, 1970. He passed into eternal life on March 21, 1999.
Margaret is survived by her loved ones, a daughter, Bonnie (Harry) McFall of Elmwood; a son, Joseph (Lisa) Ulrich of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Coleen, Harry, and Matthew McFall, Beth McFall Morrell, Anthony, Erik, Christopher, Megan, Ashley, and Nicole Ulrich, and Joshua Kreisman; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, James Delashmutt of Davenport, IA; and multiple nieces and nephews. The loved ones who preceded her entering eternal life were her parents; her husbands; her son, Anthony Joseph Ulrich, Jr.; and her ten siblings, Helen Hires, Marian Anderson, Ruth Anderson, Donald Swanson, Everett Swanson, Judith Snyder, Doris Anderson, Evangeline Savage, Gloria Delashmutt, and Bonnie Anker.
Margaret was a life long learner, a hard worker, and a servant to many. Her longest places of employment were secretarial/clerical positions for Union Carbide Corporation in Bedford Park, and A.A. Stagg High School in Palos Hills. She treasured the days she was a caregiver to preschool children and a volunteer to help teachers prepare materials. She also enjoyed working in her yard, visiting with her sons in AZ, and traveling with her relatives and the best of friends.
Margaret now rests in the love and peace of Jesus Christ as she awaits His second coming.
A graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Hillside, IL, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Elmwood.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood is in charge of arrangements.

"Grammy (mommy in love) you were feisty, analytical, anal, hard working. picky and a funny (humorous) old lady and that's what I loved about you most of all! You would always thank me for taking care of your "little boy Joe Joe" and I promise I always will. We will miss you terribly. Rest in peace and enjoy your new home with your beloved Tony boy. XO"
