Roy A. McCoy, 68, of Brimfield, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on April 26, 1950, in Peoria, to Paul
and Ruth (Miars) McCoy. He is survived by four children, Chad McCoy of Brimfield, Brandee (Josh) Seelye of Brimfield, Dawn (Charles) Owens of Farmington, and Amy
(the late Donnie) Dickerson of Yates City; two brothers, Steve McCoy and Mike McCoy; one sister, Cathy Anderson; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Jayson, Damien, Taylor, and Dale.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Paula Hahn.
Roy was a high school graduate of Elmwood High School in 1969. He was a driver for Gates and Knoxville Transport for 25 years, retiring in 2006. Most recently he was a bartender at Rookies Sports Bar and Grill. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and watching football and baseball. Roy had a heart of gold, and was always there to help anyone who needed it. He was dearly loved and will be missed by so many.
Cremation rites have been accorded. At his request, there will be no services.
A celebration of life with family and friends will be held on October 6th from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Rookie's Sports Bar and Grill in Brimfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
