Wayne C. Flenker age 94 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Saturday evening December 182004.0 at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa Iowa.



A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday December 212004.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Service Time on Tuesday December 212004.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery Dubuque Iowa.



Wayne C. Flenker was born on July 31 1910 in Manning Iowa to Charles H. Flenker and Anna A. (Fonken) Flenker. He was a 1930 graduate of Manning High School and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Faunelii I. Streeter Haislet on November 27 1947 in Dubuque Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 12 1997.



Wayne first worked for Farley & Letcher in Dubuque Iowa. He and his brother Woody then owned and operated Woody and Wayne's Sinclair Station in Maquoketa from 1953 to 1955. He then worked at Mohr's Mobil from 1956 to 1966 and later for the U.S. Postal Service from the mid 1960's until retiring in 1981.



Wayne was a former member of the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 and the Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O'Connor-Regenwether. He enjoyed gardening doing yard work and was devoted to his wife and family.



Wayne is survived by: children- Dennis(Kristi) Flenker of Maquoketa IA & Craig(Peggy) Flenker of Maquoketa IA; a step-daughter- Darlene Phillips of E. Dubuque IL; 2 sisters- Edna Minter of Long Beach CA & Eleanor Costello of St. Paul MN; 4 grandchildren 12 step-grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren & 26 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents his wife 1 step-daughter 1 step-son 2 brothers 4 sisters and 1 grandson in infancy.



A Wayne C. Flenker Memorial Fund has been established.
