In loving memory of

J. Carroll Current
November 15, 1928 - December 8, 2004

J. Carroll Current age 76 of Clinton Iowa and formerly of Baldwin and Preston Iowa died on Wednesday morning at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City Iowa.



A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday December 112004.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 P.M. on Friday December 102004.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa where a 7:30 P.M. Masonic Service will be conducted by the Maquoketa Masonic Helion Lodge #36 AF & AM. Burial will be in the Pence Cemetery rural Baldwin Iowa where a military flag presentation will be conducted by the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O'Connor-Regenwether and the Andrew AMVETS Post #62.



J. Carroll Current was born on November 15 1928 in Baldwin Iowa to Freeman C. Current and Mabel (McNamee) Current. His early education was in the Baldwin Schools. He then attended and graduated from Preston Community High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Reserves. He married Phyllis Miller on June 27 1953 in Maquoketa Iowa.



Carroll had worked for the City of Preston as an electrician and the Jackson County Roads Department. He then worked for Equistar in Clinton for 22 years first as an electrician and later in the parts department retiring in 1990.



Carroll had been a member of the Preston Fire Department Preston City Council Bellevue Masonic Lodge Clinton Consistory Davenport Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and the Preston United Methodist Church.



Carroll enjoyed many things and was a lover of MG? cars John Deere tractors camping and playing pool on his pool table. His family was the most important part of his life and he enjoyed spending time with them.



Carroll is survived by: his wife- Phyllis Current of Clinton IA; children- Carolyn(Mrs. Michael) Moore of Eldridge IA Jay Current of Dallas TX & Pamela Wright of Clinton IA; 7 grandchildren 2 step-grandchildren & 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents 1 brothers & 1 sister.



A J. Carroll Current Memorial Fund has been established.
