Harold Doc Graves Jr. age 72 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Friday morning September 32004.0 at the DeWitt Community Hospital in DeWitt Iowa.



A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday September 72004.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Rev. Norman Hieman of the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 P.M. on Monday September 62004.0 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery Maquoketa Iowa.



Harold Doc Graves Jr. was born on November 11 1931 in Maquoketa Iowa to Harold E. Graves Sr. and Hattie M. (Young) Graves. He was educated in the Maquoketa schools. He never married.



Doc first worked at Clinton Engines in the foundry and later for the shipping and receiving department. He then worked for the City of Maquoketa for 21 years in the wastewater streets and sewer departments retiring in 1990. He had also worked for Graves Hauling the family business for many years.



Doc was a member of First Baptist Church in Maquoketa Iowa. He enjoyed trading and ?wheeling and dealing?. He also liked guns. His family was important to him especially his great-nieces and great-nephews.



He is survived by: 1 sister- Darlene Coon of Maquoketa IA; 1 brother- Robert Bob (Diane) Graves of Maquoketa IA; 2 nephews; many great nieces & nephews & many great-great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents 1 sister & 1 brother.



A Harold Doc Graves Jr. Memorial Fund has been established.
