In loving memory of

Nathan L. Carl
March 4, 1984 - February 27, 2018

Nathan Lynn Carl, 33, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27th 2018.
Nathan was born March 4th 1984 in Canton, Illinois to Jason Carl and Marsha Mountjoy.
He is survived by his father, Jason Carl of Canton, mother Marsha Mountjoy of Mackinaw; siblings: Dawn and Matt Winhold, Michael Carl and Tawnya, Mindy, Ben Mountjoy. Nieces and nephews: Kierston, Ryan Michael, Ava, Luke, Login, Harper and Ryan. Grandparents Anita Carl of Canton and Eddie and Loretta Harper of Hopedale and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfather Les Carl, Cousin Rory Carl, Uncles Darrell Carl, Van Crouch and stepfather Pat Mountjoy. Nathan lost his buddy, Chief, whom he had adopted and loved for 13 years.
Nathan was a very unique person who loved music, drawing, and spending as much time outside as he possibly could. He looked forward to gardening and was especially fond of growing raspberries. Nathan loved the Lord, being a part of Wise Guys and helping with Awanas on Wednesday evenings. He loved his family, and is trusted companion Hank. Nathan watched every UFC fight that he could, and knew each fighters strengths and weaknesses. We are going to miss him and his sharp sense of humor. He is perfect now, no more wheels, getting stuck or doing donuts in the snow.
In honor of Nathan's memory, the family asks that you plant a berry bush or tree of your choice to enjoy just as he did.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 2nd at 11am at New Castle Bible Church located at 17931 Dee-Mack Road, Mackinaw with a meal to follow. There will be no visitation.
Cremation rites have been accorded by the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and a private burial will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at a later date.

"Marsha, I am so very sad to hear about Nate. Nate was like a brother to me. I briefly had talked to him in December over facebook. He told me he was living in Canton and was doing good. My love goes out to you, Michael, Nate's dad and the rest of the family. Unfortunately, circumstances won't allow me to attend the memorial service. I will always remember the good times we had and the trouble we raised ... all in good fun. I am glad to have known Nate. "
