Dr. John T. Lefebvre
Canton Dr. John T. Lefebvre, 88, of Canton passed away at 7:42 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born October 14, 1927, in Canton to Leo and Ethel (Meade) Lefebvre. He married Marilyn J. Hedrick on November 23, 1957, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2007.
He is survived by four children, Denise (Doug) Bigelow of Peoria, Suzanne (the late Bruce) Negley of Canton, John (Ricia) Lefebvre of Peoria, and Marc (Michelle) Lefebvre of Peoria; one brother, Richard J. Lefebvre of OH; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Wilson, Laura (John) Parkinson, Stephen (Fiance-Gretchen Schlossler) Bigelow, Matthew Bigelow, Ian Lefebvre, Andrew Lefebvre, Kristina Lefebvre, Bridgette Lefebvre, and James Lefebvre; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Everly Wilson.
John was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. He was a 1953 graduate of Loyola Dental School and worked as a dentist in Canton, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Illinois State District Dental Society in Peoria, St. Marys Catholic Church in Canton, and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Canton, with Fr. Daniel Ebker officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, with recitation of the rosary at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made to St. Marys Food Pantry or to St. Marys Steeple Fund.
