Michael McEnroe

Michael Louis McEnroe was born July 31, 1951 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Louis and Mary (Cain) McEnroe. Michael graduated from Garrigan High School in Algona in 1969, Loras College in Dubuque in 1973 and Creighton Law School in 1976. He worked for a time with McMahon and Cassel Law Firm in Algona as a trial lawyer and a magistrate judge. In 1988, he joined a firm in Des Moines, Iowa as a partner. Then in 1998, he started his own firm in West Des Moines. He was then joined by Murray Gotsdiner, Bill Brewer, Frank Steinbach III and Michael Burdette. He was a member of the Executive Council of Young Lawyers Section, Bar Associations in Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota, the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association and was elected to the Board of Governors in 2004. Michael received the prestigious LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rated For Ethical Standards and Legal Ability Award.
Michael enjoyed sports, the Arts as well as collecting antiques. Michael also enjoyed traveling and spending time at his condominium in Naples, Florida.
Michael died suddenly on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at his home in West Des Moines at the age of 54.
Survivors include his parents, Louis and Mary McEnroe of Algona; brother Tom McEnroe, wife Melanie, and their children Cassie and Chelsea of Powder Springs, Georgia; sister Catherine McEnroe and her children Christian and Caitlin of Plandome, New York; brother Tim McEnroe, wife Sue and their daughter Aubrey of Algona and brother Mark and wife Darla of Algona. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents.
