Jerry L. Parsons

Jerry Lynn Parsons, the son of Ralph and Ruth (Kelley) Parsons was born on December 19, 1943 in Algona. He attended school at Algona where he played football during his high school years. Jerry married Veronica M. (Constable) Fett on February 14, 1980. He was an avid hunter and collector of auto racing memorabilia. He enjoyed attending sporting events in which his children and grandchildren were involved.

Jerry worked many years for Algona Municipal Utilities, Barco Manufacturing and most recently at Chantland Manufacturing of Dakota City. He enjoyed his family and friends and loved to visit with them and was always there if someone was in need.

Jerry L. Parsons died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Kossuth Regional Healthcare Center, Algona at the age of 62.

Jerry is survived by his wife Veronica of Algona; three sons, James and his wife Denice of Algona, Joe and his wife Dolly of Wesley, AR, and Jeffrey of Council Bluffs; two daughters, Janet Bernacchi of Council Bluffs and Julie Carberry and her husband Rick of Council Bluffs; four step-sons, Ferris Fett and his wife Denice of Bozeman, MT, Alan Fett of Phoenix, AZ; Kevin Fett and his wife Lynn of Algona, and Drew Fett and his wife Pamela of Thompson; 13 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters, Mary Blackstock of Algona, Ruth Lightly and husband David of Waukee, Linda Nemmers of Bancroft, Sandra Hutchinson and husband Bob of Lone Rock, Mike Parsons and wife Suzanne of Cassville, MO, and Tom Parsons and wife Erma of Burt; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy; a sister Judy Miller; and four brothers, Darwin "Bud", Richard "Dick", Dwight "Chuck" and Morris "Louie" Parsons.
