Robert Joseph "Bob" Farrell

Robert Joseph "Bob" Farrell was born July 22, 1957, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Edward and Darlene Speth Farrell. He grew up in Algona and attended St. Cecelia Academy and in 1975 he graduated from Garrigan High School. Bob went on to attend Austin Community College in Austin, Minnesota. After his schooling he returned to Algona to work.

On July 31, 1982, Bob was united in marriage to Jeanie Trca in Britt, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Algona. Bob later worked at Klein Insurance Agency in Wesley. Bob and Jeanie lived at Oak Lake where Bob took great pride in the Oak Lake Community and was involved in everything, but was especially proud of the Fourth of July Fireworks Show.

Family was very important to Bob. He enjoyed spending time with his son and helped coach some of his teams. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, was an avid fan of Bishop Garrigan High School athletics and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was a member of St. Cecelia Parish.

Bob died Monday, February 6, 2006, in Algona, Iowa, at the age of 48.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie and son, Joseph of Algona, Iowa; mother, Darlene Farrell of Algona, Iowa; maternal grandmother, Minnie Speth of Windom, Minnesota; sister, Terry and husband Dr. Louie Burkert of Clinton, Iowa; brothers, Charles Farrell and wife Terry of Des Moines, Iowa; Steve Farrell and wife Denise of Ankeny, Iowa; Dick Farrell and wife Janet of Des Moines, Iowa; Chris Farrell and wife Shelly Farrell of Ankeny, Iowa. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Edward, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather.
