Faye M. Loebig

Faye Maxine McMurray Loebig was born December 5, 1916, in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Alvie and Mamie Rake McMurray. She attended grade school at St. Benedict Catholic School and graduated from Algona High School. After her schooling she started work as a telephone operator.

On September 24, 1935, Faye was united in marriage to Wilfred Francis Loebig at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Wesley. They later were the bulk agent for Standard Oil and ran the tank wagon in Wesley, which Faye managed. She especially enjoyed her family, bowling, playing cards and later in life enjoyed painting. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Faye died Monday, July 4, 2005, at her home in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 88.

She is survived by her husband, Wilfred of Edinburg, Texas; five sons, Wilfred F. Loebig Jr. and wife Margaret of Edinburg, Texas; Craig Loebig and wife Wilma of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Gary Loebig and wife Judy of Austin, Texas; David Loebig and wife Kathryn of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Randy Loebig and wife Susan of Dublin, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert and Dorothy McMurray of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister, Beverly and Glen Smith of Algona, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Kollasch.
