Dorothy Ann Dillon, was born March 28, 1921, in Greenville, Iowa, the daughter of Cloyd Clarence and Jessie (Mather) Chute. She was united in marriage to Harold S. Dillon on August 10, 1942, in Lancaster, MO. Dorothy has lived in the Keswick and North English Communities most of her life. She attended the Keswick United Methodist Church and was active in various neighborhood clubs. Dorothy liked to quilt, work on jigsaw and word puzzles, and loved entertaining her grandchildren. She became a resident of the English Valley Care Center in North English in December 2006. She died on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Care Center in North English, at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her three children: Karolyn "Kay" Grove of South English, Patricia (George) Stanich of Clive and Ron (Karen) Dillon of West Chester; seven grandchildren: Chris (Rich) Baumert, Cindy (Larry) Deitrich, Matt Dillon, Anne Dillon, Beth Dillon, John Dillon and Michael Dillon; five great grandchildren: Jackie, Mattie & Luke Dillon, Travis & Ashley Baumert; a sister-in-law June Caskey of North English; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1971; 2 sons Charles "Chuck" Dillon and David Dillon; a grandson Brian Dillon; two sisters: Leona Glanz and Phyllis Anselmo; and three brothers: Arnold, Harold and Bob Chute. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the White Pigeon Cemetery, rural Webster. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, September 6th at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. A memorial fund has been established for the English Valley Care Center, Keswick First Responders or Essence of Life Hospice.
