Fannie Mae Miller was born May 23, 1919 in Kalona, Iowa the daughter of John I. and Mary May (Miller) Helmuth. On October 10, 1940 she was united in marriage to Henry C. Miller in Kalona. Fannie has lived in the Kalona community all of her life where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sharon Bethel Church. She enjoyed making clothing and love bundles for the people of Haiti. Fannie died suddenly on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her home in rural Kalona at the age of 93 years. Fannie is survived by four children - Viola Fern Yoder and husband Iddo of Lott, TX; Leslie Ray Miller of Crete, IL; Mary Etta Stoltzfus and husband Steve of Kennedyville, MD; Ruby Marie Stutzman and husband Joni of Kalona; a son-in-law Lynn Helmuth of Kalona; 26 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; and two brothers - Emery Helmuth of Mechanicsburg, OH; and Omar Helmuth of Pine Bluffs, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on October 16, 1950, a daughter Ethel Mae Helmuth, a grandson Jason Ray Yoder, two sisters - Vina Yoder, Susie Anna Hostetler, and a brother Christian Helmuth Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 am Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona. Burial will be at the North Gingerich Cemetery rural Kalona. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6-8 pm and Sunday from 3-5 and 6-8 pm at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. A memorial fund has been established for Lifeline International. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
