Dennis Adams, age 66, of Elmore, MN passed away on Monday December 27, 2010 at United Hospital District, Blue Earth. MN.
His funeral ceremony will be Thursday December 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Winter Funeral Home in Blue Earth, MN with Pastor Michael Roys officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday December 29 at Winter Funeral Home in Blue Earth.
Dennis Duane Adams was born on October 7, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Duane and Ginger (Yarnell) Adams. When he was two years old, the family traveled to Blue Earth where they made their home. Dennis went to school in Blue Earth graduating in 1962.
He met and fell in love with Linda Cummins and they were married January 31, 1965. To this union were born three amazing children. They are his pride and joy.
Dennis worked for Elmore Nursery, Farmers Elevator of Elmore, MN, Blue Earth Landscape, and last partnering with Jim Volz in Elmore Ag and Auto Parts. He was a 20 year member of the Elmore Fire Department, on the Elmore Rescue Squad, member of the Elmore Lions Club, and a Cub Scout leader.
He loved being outdoors, fishing with his buddies and camping with his family and friends. He loved to plant a tree here or a bush there tending to them and watching them grow. Having his family around him was his greatest joy. He enjoyed telling the grandchildren a story (true or not) and playing tricks on them.
Dennis is survived by his mother Ginger Adams of Chandler, TX; wife Linda of 45 years of Elmore, MN; children: David (Kim) of Blue Earth, MN; Brent (Tammy) of Elmore, MN; and Angela Moore (Alan) of Madelia, MN; brothers: Gary (Ardis) of Winnebago; and Jim of Blue Earth; sisters: Sarah Wilson and Diane Kelder of Chandler, TX; Sandy Walton of Chandler, TX; and Pam Green (Paul) of Storm Lake, IA; mother-in-law Florence Cummins of Fairmont, MN; brother-in-law Terri Cummins (Lori) of Fairmont, MN; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Duane, brother Kevin, and father-in-law Byrl Cummins.
He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
