A funeral service for Kathryn Elizabeth Krause, 90, of Fenton, will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Tuesday at the Church in Fenton and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Kathryn Elizabeth Krause was born June 27, 1925, in Iowa Falls, the daughter of Glenn C. and Edith Salome (Welsh) Cage. She grew up in Bancroft graduating high school in 1942. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton on October 31, 1943, by Reverend Kabelitz.
On February 14, 1943 Kathryn was married to Herbert H. Krause at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont, MN. While Herbert served in the Navy, she worked as a store clerk. They farmed and raised their four children west of Seneca. Kathryn worked several years at Garry Furniture in Bancroft.
Kathryn was a courageous, and strong lady. She took pride in being an elegant lady. She was a beautiful seamstress, she enjoyed music, dancing, camping, traveling, and reading. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton and many ladies clubs.
Kathryn E. Krause died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Avera Holy Family Hospital, Estherville at the age of 90.
She is survived by her son, Herbert K. (Marilyn) Krause of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Hollee Struecker (Tom) of Fenton, Heidee Barrett of Spirit Lake, and Haleisa (Randall) Johnson of Strawberry Point; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Tuttle of Oskaloosa, Karla (John) Christian of Marion, Michele (Keith) Espe of Lone Rock, Hillary Clarey of Fairmont, MN, Nathan (Danielle) Struecker of Fenton, Micaya (Dallas) Wiener of San Diego, CA, Charles (Jenna) Barrett of Spirit Lake, and McKenzie (Travis) Robinson of Strawberry Point; and 18 great-grandchildren; Cody and Dylan Tuttle, Joshua and Jonah Christian, Waverly, Thomas, and Violet Espe, Sydnee and Blake Struecker, Noelle, Malea, and Haidyn Wiener, Riley, Lincon, and Presley Clarey, Asia Lee and London Barrett; and Jacob Robinson. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Krause of Fenton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herbert on December 11, 2010; two sisters-in-law, Irene Alt-Zumach and Rachel Krause.
