Jerome (Jerry) Joseph Stangl, age 66, of Winona, MN, died last week at his home. Jerry was born July, 25, 1949 in Creston, Iowa, to Clete and Kay Stangl. Jerry grew up in Iowa. After high school, he served in the army as a cook and was stationed in Turkey. After his service, Jerry lived briefly in California before returning to Iowa to live in Mason City and Nora Springs. Jerry moved with his family to Winona in 1994. Jerry worked for Fastenal for many years and enjoyed serving in a variety of positions. In his free time, Jerry was a talented artist.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Alexis Stangl (John Bohaty) of St. Paul, MN; his mother, Kay Stangl of Fountain City, WI; and his brother Jeff (Mary) Stangl of Cochrane, WI. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Clete Stangl, and son, Cory Stangl.
A private service for Jerry will be held at a later date. Please leave a message or a photo tribute.
