"I wish there were words I could say to take away your pain. Blanka was a beautiful person and I am so honoured to have been her friend. She was the definition of feminine grace and style. From the way she dressed ( her red Chinese dress and princess wedding gown) to the way she carried her self. She was a thing of beauty to behold. Her love of music and discovering new things was only surpassed by the love she had for her family. When Blanka was in Kerms arms and they looked into each other's eyes it was as though everyone and everything disappeared. I saw almost an invisible light pass between them that only the look of true love can convey. They were ment for each other. And the love she has for Alex will transcend all time. She is so proud of you Alex. There is a bond between a Mother and her child that time and death can never ever destroy. The Times ahead will be hard I can not lie to you about this. But Alex you will start to see things in your self that are like her and know that this is a gift she left behind for you. She will always live on in my heart. I love her. Blanka Estela Alvarez Burt, 50, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 from injuries sustained in a car accident along with her sister and best friend, Rosita Maria Alvarez.
Blanka was born June 24, 1964 to Gabino Alvarez Ramirez and Celia Moreno Gomez in Mexico City, Mexico. Blanka attended the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1983 where she got her Master's in Business and Administration. She was a member of St.Charles Borromeo Church.
Blanka's passionate and triumphant hunger to follow her dreams allowed her to work at her dream job as head of Human Resources and attorney of Serfin Bank for 12 years in Mexico City. After moving to Minnesota Blanka got interested in working for H&R block until 2012. Above all, she was a loving and dedicated stay at home mom and wife to her daughter Alex, and her "baby" Kerm.
June 24, 2004, Blanka married Kermit John Burt of Utica. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling to exotic locations and learning about different cultures, cuisines, and musical genres. More than anything else she just enjoyed dancing, singing, shopping, going to the movie theatre, and having hours of laughter with all her family, especially with her daughter.
Blanka is survived by her husband, Kermit; child, Alexandra Danae Alvarez at home; step children, Amber (Andrew), Timothy (Lindsay), Mathew, Michael, Tyler; mother, Celia Moreno Alvarez; brothers-in-law, Kenny (Patty) Burt, Kevin (Diane) Burt, Kyle (DeAnn) Burt; sisters in law, Kristie (Gene) Burt, Kim Alvarez, Keri (Shelly) Gerth; father and mother in-law, Merlin "Bozy" and JoAnn Burt. She was like a second mother to niece, Jessica Airaly Alvarez. Continuing with nieces, Heather Wirt, Mariana Moreno Alvarez, Lilana Moreno Alvarez; nephew, Ricardo Moreno Alvarez and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Faustino Alvarez and Longina Ramirez; maternal grandparents, Pascual Moreno and Lucina Gomez; father Gabino Alvarez Ramirez; brother Faustino (Tino) Alvarez; and sister Rosita Alvarez Moreno.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell, Reverend Shawn Haremza and Reverend Jose Morales officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles and one hour prior to mass at church.
