TREMPEALEAU AND FORMERLY OF WINONA

Lyle Anton Erickson, 68 of Trempealeau and formerly of Winona, died at home surrounded by his family on Friday evening, July 26, 2013 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Lyle was born November 19, 1944 in Winona to Leonard and Dena (Hovde) Erickson. He was raised in Winona. On a pit stop in Illinois on his way to California, Lyle was introduced to Linda Webb. Starting as a friendship, Lyle and Linda's relationship grew, and they were united in marriage on November 9, 1974 in Illinois. During their 38 years of marriage, they most enjoyed camping together and made many campground friends along the way. Whether it was sitting around a bonfire, visiting in the kitchen, or laughing during the impossible-to-find Easter egg hunt, Lyle loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a generous man with a huge heart, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Erickson of Trempealeau; children, Connie Erickson of Winona, Tracy (Tom) Timm of Winona, Shelly Callendar of Poynette, WI, Fred (Paula) Hoffman of Trempealeau, and Angie (Bob) Parker of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Konkel of Rochester; aunt, Edna Hovde; son-in-law, Mark Privet and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Brenda Erickson-Privet in 2004; sister, Leona Fairbanks; brothers, Jim and Robert Erickson; and his best camping dog, Chance.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12-2pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Connect Church, 3340 S. Kinney Coulee Road in Onalaska. The memorial service will begin at 2pm at church, led by Pastor Jerry Hatlevig.
