Violet M. Zenk, 89, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Violet was born December 19, 1913 in Elba, MN to Irvin and Lillian (Eggers) Loppnow. Violet had worked at LakeSide Packing in Plainview, MN, was the Postmaster in Elba for six years and also worked for Fisher Greenhouse in St. Charles. On August 18, 1976 she married Russell Zenk in Nassau, IA and moved to Plainview and later made their home in Elgin, MN. Violet was a member of the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Elgin, MN. Violet enjoyed crafting, gardening, sewing and working on the family history.
Survivors include her husband, Russell, and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Shirley and Irene.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 1:30pm at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Elgin with the Rev. Kevin Robson officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN. Friends may call from noon until time of service at the church on Saturday. Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
