Reinhold Gensmer

     Reinhold ?Reine? Gensmer, 89, of Lewiston died Tuesday September 16, 2003 at the Lewiston Villa.
     Reine was born March 31, 1914 at Bethany in rural Winona County to John and Emma (VanHerwynen) Gensmer. He and Amanda Rupprecht were married November 12, 1951 at St. John?s Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston. Reine farmed in Norton Township until moving to Lewiston in 1957. He then worked for Lewiston Feed and Produce until retiring. Amanda died September 25, 1999.
     Reine was a member of St. John?s Ev. Lutheran Church. He was an avid Twins Fan, enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
     Survivors include a step-daughter Maxine (Curtis) Kalmes of Rochester, four step grandchildren, 12 step great-grandchildren, 2 step great-great- grandchildren and a brother Victor (Joyce) Gensmer of Witoka. In addition to his wife Amanda, three brothers; Arnold, Albert and Edmund and a sister, Esther, have died.
     Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday at St. John?s Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with the Revs. David A. Fischer and Michael Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home?s ? Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
     Memorials are preferred to St. John?s Church and the Lewiston Villa.
