In loving memory of

ABBE
November 15, 2001 - December 9, 2015

Abbe' a black/chocolate lab mix single purpose law enforcement K-9 was born November 15, 2001 in Raleigh, NC.

She was trained at the Virginia State Police Academy's K-9 program. She was a member of the Blackstone, VIrginia Police Department from 2002-2006. In 2006, Abbe came to serve with me at the Preston Police Department. Abbe was certified through NAPWDA, North American Police Work Dog Association. She participated in countless training hours, as well as on the job action. Abbe was involved with several drug search warrants with the Bear Creek Narcotics Task Force from 2006-2008. In 2009, Abbe joined me with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Abbe worked as a K-9 deputy until retiring in 2010. Abbe enjoyed her retirement even through losing most of her sight and hearing! The nose was still good to go though! Abbe passed away on December 9, 2015.

She will be missed by those that new her and were 'sniffed' at the door for a greeting of 'hello!' But especially by my family, Rennet, Aidan, Conor, Sarah, Grandpa and Grandma Gruver, Grandma Kay, Abbe's K-9 brother 'Hondo' and little Oreo.... '......We all owe a death, no exceptions.....'

Rest in Peace my friend, can't wait to see you greet me at the gates!
