Geraldine A. Foster, 75, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Geraldine Ann Heide was born April 8, 1939, to William and Hannah (Aljets) Heide in Pomeroy, Iowa. On April 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Gary Foster. They spent their entire 55 years of marriage living in Fort Dodge.
Geri loved spending time with her family, going to car shows, shopping, flower gardening, traveling, and reading. Throughout the years, Gary and Geri built several homes together. Following her retirement in 2009, she especially enjoyed having lunch with her Wal-Mart friends where she was employed as a receptionist for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband Gary, daughters Deanne (Duane) Olson of Fort Dodge and Ann (Joe) Thelen of Johnston; grandsons Tommy (Andrea) Foster, Dan Olson and Kyle (Nicole) Olson; great grandchildren Kayden Tart and Jaylon Jan; brother Paul (Deloris) Heide; sister Charlene (Don) Everson; brother-in-law Mark Foster; and sisters-in-law Norma (Ronnie) Anderson, Marion (Kirk) VanGundy, Linda (Steve) Geels; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her son Tom in 1984, parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Seymour and Brigette Foster, brother Dean, sister-in-law Joan Geis, and many aunts and uncles.
