Lorraine E. Burke, 62, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, June 12th, 2014 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Rogers, Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her son, Gene Burke of Fort Dodge; and her granddaughter, Jayden Burke of Fort Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Virginia (Tafoia) Burke; and her son, Justin Burke in 2013.
Lorraine Ellen Burke was born on October 4, 1951 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. For nearly 20 years she owned and operated GiGes Restaruant and Bar in Callender. She later worked at Dairy Queen, Fort Dodge Messenger until retiring due to ill health. Caring for her children and granddaughter was the most important thing in her life.
