Gloria was a caretaker to many family members and others. She worked at a grocery store and Globe Union when she was younger. However, her life work was as a self -employed house keeper. She sometimes worked for more than one generation in some families. An excellent seamstress, Gloria made countless prom dresses, did multiple weddings, bridal gowns, alterations of all types, and sewed many other creations. Gloria enjoyed bird watching, trips, and going to garage sales with Arnold. She enjoyed hearing Arnold's tales of fishing, mushroom hunting, and years of hunting. She was very close to her brother, David and enjoyed spending time with him. Most of all Gloria loved spending time with Arnold and sharing time with others.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

"We knew her as Gloria Jean. She was our mother's cousin. I enjoyed the few times I visited with Gloria Jean. She shared a story of baking cookies with our mother and their grandmother, Minnie Strine. She said the cookies were as big as their hands and SO delicious. I noticed today that she and our mother shared the same birthday. I'm sue she will be dearly missed. My most sincere sympathies to thos eschew loved. Cousin Sharon Cote Eckerman, West Des Moines."
