Duane Allen Walton

Duane "Dewey" Walton, 74, passed on away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 10th at the Napier Community Church,1595 Xenia Drive, Ames. Duane Allen Walton was born on October 27, 1951, to Chuck and Ivadell (Bolte) Walton in Algona, Iowa. Dewey graduated from United Community Schools and attended DMACC where he earned a degree in Auto Parts and Sales. He worked numerous jobs, Blacks Seed Farm and Ford Motor before starting at Iowa State University, working in many areas before becoming a building maintenance engineer. He truly was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed working on cars and building houses. He loved all animals and had a great time rescuing and bonding with Chicky the chicken. Dewey battled a long history of medical issues and illnesses. Duane married Donna Marie Leibold in 1972 and from that union, children Jennifer Ray (Crutcher) and Cory Duane were born. ewey is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marlene, and his children Jennifer, Joseph, Amanda and Andrew; his grandchildren Jacie Crutcher, Jesse Crutcher, Dylan Walton, Delaina Derry, Adriann Walton and Autumn Walton; his brothers and their spouses Dennis (Vivian) Walton and Devon (Debra) Walton; along with many nieces and nephews. His family was the best part of his life. He is proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Ivadell Walton, his sister Diane Trampel and his son Cory and his grandson Dalton Derry
