Irmingard Maria Elisabeth Novak, 96, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on February 21 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Irmingard was born in Freiburg, Germany, to Franziskus Kaiser and Margarethe Von Boemble, on February 25 of 1927.
Her mother encouraged her to immerse herself in music and art. Her father, to pursue a love of agriculture, scholarship and sport. Irmingard chose a high school that was traditionally male for the opportunity to learn Latin and Greek and to participate in sports.
After High School and at the conclusion of WWII, she took a position in one of Germany's biggest publishing houses where she became an accomplished proof reader.
Irmingard is survived by what she loved to refer to as her, " patchwork quilt " family. Between two marriages, four stepchildren and their spouses and families she was surrounded by an international family from America, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Sweden and Korea.
They say " it takes a village " to raise a child. Our family knows it took the entire world to "raise an Irmingard."
No public service will be held as her wishes were to be privately interned in her beloved Florida gulf at a later time.
