Max Cole Jr., age 95 passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 27th, with a visitation beginning at 12:00 PM followed by a small ceremony at 1:00 PM. Services will be held at Brooks South Town Funeral Home, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa 50321. Memorials may be directed to Animal Rescue League or the American Legion Hall, 1813 SE 1st, Des Moines, IA 50315.
Max Cole Jr. was born on February 3, 1924 in Centerville, Iowa; he was the son of Max and Marie (Farnsworth) Cole, he attended school in the area of his birth and finished his education in Des Moines graduating from North High School. Max was united in marriage to Addie Lou Tourea in Centerville in 1952. Max served his county honorably in the United States Army for 23 years and after his military retirement he worked for the Department of Health in the Tuberculosis Department. He had been a member of the American Legion. Max enjoyed golfing, and enjoyed his music, the Big Band Music and Dean Martin and the others of that era. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy Hill and Peggy Brown both of Des Moines, grandchildren, Dian (Tom) Gunderman, Sophie Cole, and Grant Bresley, great-grandchildren, Shawnea, Stephanie, Courtney, Joshua and Jaycee, great-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Kaden, Spencer, Alice Anna, Ariel, Skyah, Benjamin, and sister, Peg Schmitt.
In death Max rejoins his parents, Max and Marie Cole, wife, Addie, and son, Grant Cole.
