On June 15, 1926 Thornton and Sally Reid welcomed a beautiful daughter into this world and named her Helen Marie Reid.
Helen accepted Christ at an early age and was involved in different ministries. She participated in prayer services that were conducted in Men and Women prisons, in which she drove the church bus. Helen spoke at numerous churches throughout the state of Indiana, there was not a church she didn't know by name! She was a faithful follower of God.
Helen worked and retired from RCA after 49 years of service. Helen was always a fun loving person, who loved to dance. She was always there when someone needed her, regardless of the situation. Helen was known as "Mom" to the children in the neighborhood.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, George Washington and son, Ferdie Edwards. She is survived by her son Andrea Edwards and daughter-in-law, Cecilia Edwards, sister, Geraldine Smith, numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Helen had the most beautiful and sincere smile that would make anyone smile too. The wonderful lady had a halo........."happy home going mother......we love you!"
