moved in with Midge (Mosser) Snodgrass. There she worked at Spurgeon's Clothing. In 1952 she met Kenneth Reid Kingsolver. They were married on July 27, 1952 in Sidney, Iowa surrounded by family and friends. In 1958 they were blessed with a son, Lee Howard Kingsolver. Joan was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. After her husband's passing, Joan worked at the Ambassador as a cook and then at Walmart until retirement. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Norma Knackstedt and Arlene Howell, brother-in-law Gordon Howell, a nephew Patrick Howell, and great- grandnephew Aaiden Small-Lawson. She leaves behind her son Lee (Joyce) Kingsolver of Red Oak, grandsons Brian and Randy Kingsolver of Shenandoah, one step son Ronald (Millie) Kingsolver of Shenandoah, sister Betty Hafey of Azusa, CA, eleven nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
