fishing and enjoying South Padre Island with his family after a long week of work. Jose enjoyed boxing and was competitive for many years. He loved to work in his yard and kept it perfectly manicured. He was a great leader, husband, and father and exemplified selflessness and sacrifice. He was a great provider and lived life to the fullest. His free spirit landed him jobs that most people would only dream about. Jose was never afraid to take risks, especially when it meant a better life for his wife and children. He had an outgoing personality and was not afraid to ask questions. He was able to meet a lot of successful people along his life journey because of his charisma and extroverted nature. Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio Silva Garcia and Guadalupe Gonzales Alaniz, siblings, Angel, Concepcion, Pedro, Ninfa, Gilberto, Ana Maria, Guadalupe Estela, and Alvaro Silva Gonzales. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Celina F. Silva, sons, Jose Luis Silva Jr. (Gracie), Jerry Silva (Laura Salazar),and Ivan Silva, daughter, Isabel Silva, all of Weslaco, grandchildren, Iliana Silva, Eric Silva, Ivan Silva Jr., Ianaresy Silva, Iram Silva Salazar, Laura Silva Salazar, and Ivonne Silva Salazar, and sister, Teresa Silva-Gonzales. Services will be held in Monterrey.
