n Oskaloosa. He enjoyed shooting sports, fishing, hunting, camping, mushroom hunting, and riding 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles. He did not care if it was a bike ride around town or a trip out to Sturgis, if it involved a motorcycle, he was game. He was a great friend and always willing to lend a helping hand.
His family includes his three children, Jeremiah DeWitt of Taintor, Amelia (Knicolas) Chamberlain of Tracy, and Josh (Kiersten) DeWitt of Kandiyohi, Minnesota; a grandson, Zakaius DeWitt; a grandchild to be born in August; two sisters, Charlene (Kelly) Forbes of Crowley, Texas and Sue (Dennis) Goodman of Oskaloosa; his "adopted son", Jason Hicks of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents.
As was Harry's wish, his body has been cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Private family graveside service and burial will be held at the Henness Cemetery at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family and will be used to purchase a headstone for Harry.
