r Habitat for Humanity in our area for 3 years. While her 3 daughters were attending St. Peter School she volunteered in the school cafeteria.
Joanne truly enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John R. Aquilla; daughters, Rosemarie (Amy) Aquilla, Jean (Kevin) Raab, and Barbara (Bradley) Aquilla Butler; grandchildren, Raven and Skyler Lauer, Emily Denney, Jacob Raab, Evelyn and Hannah Butler; step-grandson Harrison Vaughn; sisters, Carolyn Szabo, and Norma Jean Copeland.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose (also February 10, 1981) Kiser; brother, Robert Kiser; and nephew and Godson, Edward Szabo.
The Aquilla family would like to thank ALL her caregivers along the way especially. Dr. Scott H. McCallister, Mercy Hospital, Specialty Hospital of Lorain, New Life Hospice, and everyone at St. Mary of the Woods.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18th. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Father Gerald Keller will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
Contributions may be made in memory of Joanne to the John R. Aquilla Family Education Endowment Fund at the Church of St. Peter.
