many years. She also belonged to the Ever Ready Club, Tuesday Morning Coffee Club, and the Red Hat Club. Cora most loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Cora enjoyed camping and fishing, coloring, canvas craft, reading, and word search puzzles. She was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her special homemade potato salad, coconut cream pies, and "school" chocolate cake. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her husband of 68 years Lawrence Halter of Baxter, IA; children Gary (Diane) Halter of Baxter, IA; Marlene Mills of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren Jason (Jenny) Robinson, Cory (Jennifer) Robinson, Rachel (Casey) Port, Sara (Mike) Warnick, and Bryce (Jill) Halter; sisters Betty (Dick) Miller, Ruth Beach, and Ethel Stiles; great-grandkids Cade, Alec, Lawson, Aleah, Ashton, Quinn, Dane, Trey, Owen, and Nolan; step-grandchildren Kendra (Justin) Arnold, and Karla (Jason) Lint; step-great-grandchildren Frank, Saylor, and Gage Lint; sisters-in-law Shirley Brown, Helen (Harold) Halter, and Helen (Robert) Halter all of Newton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Homer and Fred Bovee, sisters Ada Wikle and Grace Brown, and son-in-law Ken Mills.
